Vision
It is elegant, refined, creative and artisanal. It has warmth, light and enveloping tones that are reminiscent of nature with soft and natural shapes.
Looking to the present and glancing at tradition is what gives us a taste of life that speaks of an innovative experience. It is the vision that immerses into the world of Maya Design. A furnishing and decor company that is based in Impruneta, a small town outside of Florence. Founded in 2006, Maya Design has its own balance between tradition and the desire to find new solutions.
Behind these, are the two designers who are also partners: Lorenzo Cintelli and Sofia D’Amico.
Maya’s activity moves between two poles: innovation and the Tuscan tradition. Enriched by contemporary culture and green vision that are strongly linked to the territory and to the ways of life of those who live and work here.
The artisan tables, chairs, organic fabrics, furnishing accessories inspired by animals, Pinocchio, innovative glasses dedicated to wine lovers and room diffusers. All of these pieces have a common denominator: research into materials, luxury, uniqueness, craftsmanship and great attention to detail. In this way, all pieces from lighting, glasses, furniture and animal decor talk about territory, nature, tradition and contemporaneity. Inspired from Tuscany, their land of origin that doesn’t stop at the present but continues to interpret spaces in an original way. This is Maya Design.
Philosophy
Knowing craftsmanship and having an eye for uniqueness is reflected in the details. This is the Maya Design philosophy and designers Lorenzo Cintelli and Sofia D’Amico are the interpreters.
Taking precious material and putting them in the hands of talented craftsman. Pieces that pay homage to art and go beyond conventions. It’s the “scented ampoules.” If we then unite the warmth of the wood and the clarity of the hand-blown crystal, the glass is then born with a small “nose”: Pinocchio.
The best innovative Florentine craftsmanship is ironic. Pieces of decor for a Maya Design home: small horses and hippos.
And again, lighting, seating, tables and fabrics that evoke the love for the earth to complete a refined and elegant home.
This is the Maya Design world. From armchairs with neutral and environmentally friendly fabrics, to perfumes created from crystal bubbles. Sofia translates her inspiration through the skills acquired at the Faculty of Industrial Design of the University of Florence. She gives harmonious form to ideas and sensations. Lorenzo has a passion for free hand drawing and lets himself be inspired by the love of our surroundings, this is how the Pinocchio chalice actually came to life. Starting out as a lighting technician, Lorenzo is not afraid to back down from new challenges. Sofia and Lorenzo welcome customers and friends to Maya Design. Among essences, natural fabrics, lights and prototypes all to be put into production in an atmosphere that exudes uniqueness.
